This is a picture I took, LITERALLY going down the road and flinging my camera out the window....the kicker is that this picture ended up getting an honorable mention n a juried photography competition...but to each their own.

This house is located outside of Rutherfordton, NC...and it was a house which looked as if it was moved from somewhere else and just plopped in the middle of a corn field. I just liked the overall vast openess of the scene with a giant abstract house stuck in the middle, not looking like it belonged...apparently so did some jurors..

I went back last year to look at it, and the owners of it have fixed it up substantially.

IMHO this would have looked really good in black and white.

You really took your picture at the best time of the day. If you took it from the car while driving, that is a really lucky shot. Technically, it is great. A slightly higher angle would have earned you first a prize, for sure.

that pic works so well with the weathered house, don't think it would've with it repainted, cool pic :)

Based on the architecture that is an oooooooooooooold house.

Composition was the first thing that came to mind when it popped up in my inbox. I can see why it won awards, it has elements of starkness that are haunting.
